The producers of highly controversial film of 2012 Denikaina Ready have won the court case against them filed by several Brahmin associations alleging that the film has degraded their caste and hence cut the portions of the film.
Initially, the associations filed a petition requesting the honorable court to Ban the screening of the film. High Court rejected the plea and allowed the film to be screened. Thereafter, the associations filed a case requesting the court to at least cut the portions of the film which were derogative to the caste and profession of Brahmins.
In a recent judgment given by the High Court, the court opined that there was no need for such censoring of the film. In any case, the film has been screened all over and ran successfully, reducing the significance of the judgment that is so delayed.
