Dengue increase in city, BBMP fail to assess

The Dengue fever is increasing in Bengaluru. The rise in numbers is more in private hospitals, the BBMP is not able to assess it.

BBMP has the figures of government hospital patients admitted for dengue fever. There are 26000 private hospitals and 2743 government hospitals. In private hospital at least 5 to 6 are admitted for dengue fever and in government hospitals from January to August there are only 5967 cases of dengue affected people statistics.

The BBMP assessment from labs and nursing homes has ascertained 3700 cases of dengue was found in 600 Bengaluru city hospitals alone. This is less compared to last year. The private hospitals are not ready to declare dengue fever says BBMP health inspector Dr MN Lokesh.
