One of the shocking incidents to have happened yesterday was the denial of the burial of Chennai based doctor Simon Hercules, 55, a noted neurosurgeon who was the chief of New Hope Hospital in Chennai.

The doctor had passed away on Sunday after he faced a cardiac arrest, while receiving treatment for corona infection. When his body was taken for burial, a crowd gathered to attack and pelt stones on doctors, ambulance drivers and medical workers, and later 20 people were arrested.

Actor and politician Kamal Haasan has tweeted "Even the killer Corona doesn't see caste or religion, but people being selfish even in the final rituals of people who struggle to protect us is demonic. Doctors who risk their lives even without protective equipments are the warriors who deserve to be saluted in this war".
