Bollywood mourns the demise of The Disco King Bappi Lahiri

The Bollywood and Hindi music industry sustained yet another blow on Tuesday after the renowned playback singer Bappi Lahiri passed away. Known as The Disco King and fondly called Bappi Da, he had given numerous catchy and upbeat songs throughout his career. He was also known for his energetic and jovial personality.
Reports suggest, that Bappi Da was dealing with multiple health issues and he was hospitalized for the last one month of his life. Soon after his demise, several Bollywood stalwarts took to social media to pay their respects and express condolances.
Superstar Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Today we lost another gem from the music industry… Bappi Da, your voice was the reason for millions to dance, including me. Thank you for all the happiness you brought through your music. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Om Shanti."
Ajay Devgan, on the other hand, wrote, "Bappi Da was so endearing in person. But, his music had an edge. He introduced a more contemporary style to Hindi film music with Chalte Chalte, Suraksha & Disco Dancer. Shanti Dada. You will be missed."
