It's known that Google Pay has been accused of violating the Reserve Bank of India's guidelines in connection with three areas: Data Localisation, Storage, and Sharing.  Norms related to the three areas have allegedly been violated by GPay.

The news is that, on Monday, the Delhi High Court issued a notice to the Union government, the RBI and others.  It was acting on a plea.

As per the notice, the Google India Digital Service would now have to give an undertaking to not store data on its app under UPI ecosystem.  The company cannot share the data with any third party.

The petitioner, filing the plea, had urged the court to impose fines on the company for alleged violations. It has to be seen whether the High Court will do so.
