Covid-19 has led to several aftereffects and reactions in different people across the world. There have been reports of several people developing pneumonia after testing negative for coronavirus. In some Western countries, neurological problems and brain-related issues have been diagnosed in formerly covid patients.

In a shocking development in Delhi, a deadly fungal infection has been diagnosed in patients cured of COVID-19. Triggered by coronavirus, its name is mucormycosis, which is also known as Black fungus. At Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, over 50% of patients infected with the deadly fungus have reportedly lost eyesight. Some of them also needed the removal of nose and jaw bone. In the last two weeks, 12 cases have been diagnosed.

Dr VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, has said that this is a devastating disease. We need to be cautious. This could be a mild disease but can take a serious turn, he said.

Early detection is the key. Those suffering from numbness on a side of the face or swelling of eyes or nose obstruction and have a history of coronavirus infection are advised to see the doctor at the earliest and get a biopsy done.
