Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to attend Kamal’s maiden political meeting

Arvind Kejriwal, chief-minister of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi and president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is all set to attend actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan’s maiden political public meeting at Madurai this evening.

It may be recalled that Kamal had hinted amply about his political ambitions last year and announced some time back that he would reveal the ideology/philosophies of his outfit besides its name and flag on 21st February.  Kamal left for Ramanathapuram yesterday so as to visit former President Dr. Abdul Kalam’s Memorial at the holy town of Rameswaram before returning to Madurai to address his first political meeting.

Arvind Kejriwal, who had a one-to-one meeting with Kamal Haasan more than a fortnight back, has agreed to attend the meeting as a ‘special invitee’.  Kamal is on a meeting-spree and has been calling on leaders of almost all major political parties in the State.  Kejriwal arrived in the State yesterday to attend the meeting.

It is also stated that West Bengal chief-minister Mamata Banerjee has also been invited but it is not immediately known whether ‘Didi’ had hinted to Kamal abour her participation in the meeting.

Unconfirmed reports also state that Kamal Haasan had decided to name his political outfit as Dravida Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (DMMK), an extension of DMK!
