The Madras High Court swiftly dismissed the defamation lawsuit lodged by Mansoor Ali Khan against Trisha, Khushboo, and Chiranjeevi. Expressing strong disapproval, the court went on to suggest that if anyone had grounds for legal action, it should have been Trisha taking a stand against Mansoor.
The legal dispute stemmed from Mansoor's offensive remarks made during a promotional interview for the movie "Leo" in November. The Madras HC firmly rejected Mansoor's plea, emphasizing the need for him to cultivate better conduct. Notably, Khushboo, Chiranjeevi, and several other actors from diverse industries rallied behind Trisha, condemning Mansoor Ali Khan's statements as the controversy unfolded.
In a stern reprimand, the high court questioned Mansoor's behavior, stating, "As an actor, you are looked up to by youngsters as a role model. Is it acceptable for you to exhibit such uncultured behavior?" Additionally, the court directed Mansoor's legal representative to counsel the actor on appropriate conduct in public spaces.
Mansoor Ali Khan's defamation suit followed a public apology issued to Trisha, where he expressed remorse and extended his hopes for her blessings as she embarked on married life. His statement read, "To my co-star Trisha, please forgive me. I earnestly hope that God blesses me with the chance to extend my wishes to you as you enter wedlock."
It is known that Mansoor created a controversy with his comments "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes, and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir." This triggered huge reactions from celebrities who demanded stern action against him. Chiranjeevi, Khushboo and others condemned Mansoor and Mansoor after a police case, apologised but still chose to file a defamation case.
