Malayalam writer Sukumar Azhikode on Saturday filed a criminal defamation case against superstar Mohanlal. In his plea Azhikode alleged that the super star called him a mentally deranged person last year.

The case is filed after Mohanlal did not respond to Azhikode’s earlier legal notice asking to either apologise or face legal action for the derogatory remarks.

The fight between the stalwarts of arts began last year when Azhikode came in support of actor Thilakan over his differences with Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Thilakan was dismissed from the actor’s council on disciplinary grounds for speaking ill of the superstars of Malayalam.

Azhikode had then said that that Mohanlal and Mammootty have become old and they should limit their roles suiting their real life age and personality.
