Deepika Padukone`s Hollywood debut alongside Vin Diesel, 'xXx - Return of Xander Cage' has performed phenomenally at the box office across various markets. The film has not only been loved by the audience but also did good business globally.
International trade experts share that the film earned a whopping $70.5 million worldwide in its opening weekend, topping worldwide box office. The collections have been better than what was estimated from this big sequel.
Directed by DJ Caruso, and produced by Paramount Pictures and Revolution Studios, the third installment of the popular franchise brings back Vin Diesel as government operative Cage for a new assignment which leads him into a dangerous conspiracy of corruption among world governments.
Deepika Padukone, who has had a smashing debut with this one was playing a lead role in this big ticket Hollywood film, being female match of Xander in the film, with a strong, independent character.
Leading American Forbes Magazine says, "The film earned a solid $50.5 million overseas for a $70.5m debut weekend around the world."
Deadline.com, an international online magazine quotes, "With a $51.5M opening weekend overseas, the return of Vin Diesel as Xander Cage flexed its muscle in 53 markets for 54% of the offshore footprint. That`s 45% above Kingsman, 6% above San Andreas, on par with GI Joe: Retaliation and 2% behind Taken 3."
AFP Relax News, which is an international news agency states how 'xXx - Return of Xander Cage' has dominated the global box office over the weekend in spite of being around films like 'Split,' 'La La Land,' and 'Sing.'
