Deepika Padukone, Bollywood’s Hollywood-bound actress and daughter of former badminton champion Prakash Padukone, has bagged her fourth film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has directed her soon-to-be-released period film Padmavati.
The untitled film would be the fourth film which brings together the mercurial Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who debuted as director in Hindi films with the 1996 hit film Khamoshi (starring Nana Patekar, Salman Khan and Manisha Koirala in the lead), and the talented Deepika Padukone. Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmavati are the other three films in which the duo has worked together.
Said to be a biopic on Sahil Ludhianvi, Deepika is to play poet-lyricist Amrita Pritam’s role in the film. Abhishek Bachchan would play Ludhianvi’s character in the film.
The film is to be directed by rookie Jasmeet Reen, the screenplay writer of John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha’s Force 2.
