Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film 'Baiju Bawra' is often in news these days. The casting rumors about the male lead made a lot of headlines and now its the female lead which is attracting the media. Actress Deepika Padukone was supposed to play the lead but the latest buzz suggests that she has walked out of the project.

At first, there were rumors about Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead, then it was Kartik Aryan who was rumored for the part but the makers locked Ranveer Singh for the part. Ranveer and Deepika would've made an amazing on screen pair yet again but Deepika and producers fell out after a pay related disagreement. A source stated, "Apparently, Deepika wants the same remuneration as her husband. Not a penny more, not a penny less."

Like several other actresses, Deepika is also a supporter of the pay equality and her reason was well justified. A source close to Bhansali shared, "In a way, it works out for the better. Four Ranveer – Deepika films in a row from Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have been excessive, don’t you think?"
