During the deadly second wave of the pandemic, along with several other celebrities, actress Deepika Padukone also contracted the virus. Although she tested negative couple weeks later but the disease left a prolonged effect on her. She got infected in May 2021 and recently she opened up about how suffering with Covid-19 changed her.
During her conversation with Film Companion, Deepika said, "Lockdown two was also very different because everyone in my family, including me, had COVID at the same time. Life after COVID changed for me because physically, I was unrecognizable completely... I think (due to) the medication I was given, the steroids that I was put on. So COVID in itself was weird, your body feels different, your mind feels different."
Talking about the extremely difficult post illness phase, Deepika said, "I felt that when I had the illness it was still okay but after that, I needed to take two months off work because my mind wasn't working. The phase for me was very, very difficult."
On the work front, Deepika was recently seen in the sports film '83' and she's awaiting the release of next flick titled 'Gehraiyaan' where she is going to share screen with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
