Our lovely tall and talented damsel, Deepika Padukone has broken the glass ceiling as far as an Indian actor is concerned by being cast in a popular Hollywood franchise film alongside a big name, Vin Diesel.
So much so, that 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' was released one week prior in India, the team along with Vin Diesel even came to India to promote the film here and had a grand premiere in Deepika`s homeland. This has led to the actress opening doorways for many others to explore global cinema in such a big manner.
The unanimous feedback is that Deepika has held her own in the film and how finally Xander`s character has found a match. Her character is so independent and strong and Deepika has coupled that with an even powerful performance in the film. The actress is overwhelmed and happy with the response, love and warmth that she has been receiving from her fans.
Trade Expert Amul Mohan shared,"I think its a great debut for her in Hollywood films. You know not many times have you seen an actor change gears and go there for a whole year and come out with such a good and strongly backed performance. She held her own and all of that we already know that. But the point is that it's translating into box office numbers also which is phenomenal."
Commenting further, he said, "The movie released on a Saturday instead of Friday and still her film till yesterday has collected more than the new Hindi release from this week. And it released a week prior to its Hollywood release so its a great thing again. I just feel now that once the movie releases in Hollywood in US, Canada, UK all of these other main places, you will really feel how dominant her force becomes, for her to even get Vin Diesel down have a lavish premiere and all of the other for a day and its phenomenal. It just goes to show how serious she was and she is about pushing the envelope for india and also for herself as a character,as an actor, as a performer."
