Deepika Padukone And Meghna Gulzar's Next Gets A Title

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ where she left everyone amazed with her performance. And now, she is said to be next seen and co-producing for the first time in Meghna Gulzar’s next which is based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal! The title of the film and the star who will be starring opposite her was unknown till yesterday. And today, the makers have unveiled that the film’s name would be ‘Chhapaak’ which is the sound of a splash and the talented actor Vikrant Massey has been cast in the film.

In an interview, the ‘Raazi’ director said, “The cast is slowly coming together. Vikrant is somebody I’ve wanted to work with since Raazi, after seeing him in A Death in the Gunj. In the film, he plays a North Indian boy who used to be a professional before he decided to become an actor, then, started a campaign against acid violence which is how he came to meet Laxmi in real life. I speak for both Deepika and myself when I say that we are both really excited to have Vikrant play this part.”

Laxmi Agarwal, whom Deepika will be seen essaying in ‘Chhapaak’, is a TV show host and a campaigner with Stop Acid Attacks. She heads the NGO Chhanv Foundation and was also chosen as NDTV Indian Of The Year.
