Deepika does away with her locks!

Tall beauty Deepika Padukone has cropped her long tresses for her role in 'Karthik Calling Karthik'. The actress who was admired for her waist-length hair has gone in for short shoulder-length haircut.
The actress was initially apprehensive about the cropping job. It is said that Deepika was somehow convinced by director Vijay Lalwani and noted stylist and FarhanÂs wife  Audhuna to go for the new hairdo.
One could imagine the pain Deepika would have taken to see her beautiful locks trimmed away. She said that she chopped her hair last when she was an eight-year old. Deepika had been adamant by asking the director to shave his own hair before she trims hers short. However, the actress gushed, ÂHe didnÂt do that but he saw to it that he was present in the salon so that I donÂt back off at the last moment. In Kartik Calling Kartik, Deepika plays the character named Shonali and the scriptwriter is said to had a certain image in mind about it. So inorder to do justice with the role, Deepika went ahead with the haircut
Now, Deepika herself is happy and satisfied with her new look and so is everyone around her. She revealed that people said the short hair looks good on her and even makes her look younger.
