'Dedh Ishqiya' will be far better than 'Ishqiya': Abhishek Chaubey

Dhak Dhak diva, Madhuri Dixit’s comeback with 'Dedh Ishqiya' has been in news for quite a while. For Madhuri’s role of a Begum she was the only choice as the character was written keeping her in mind.

According to IndiaGlitz sources, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj was in touch with the actress for the role even before she had shifted back to India from the USA. Director Abhishek Chaubey narrated the story to her once she relocated to Mumbai.

Admits Abhishek Chaubey, It was a role written exclusively for Madhuri. She plays the Begum. Vidya's character had nothing left in it to take the story forward. So there was no way that I could've included her in 'Dedh Ishqiya'.

On the other hand, 'Dedh Ishqiya', sequel to the successful and acclaimed Ishqiya was Vishal Bhardwaj’s idea. In fact, Abhishek never thought of making a sequel. He reveals, I didn't want to make another Ishqiya. Vishal wanted it. I said Story kahan hai? It is said that after a lot of interactive discussions with the writers and Vishal bhardwaj, Abhishek finally had an idea that clicked him and he said, ‘That’s it, we have cracked it’. The film deals with Naseer and Arshad going into another adventure and they are the same scoundrels like before. And it didn't take them long to get into the skin of their characters even though they shot for the first part four years ago. Trust me, true to its name 'Dedh Ishqiya' will be one and-half times better than Ishqiya, added Abhishek.
