Megha Akash, who was recently seen in 'Raja Raja Chora', will next be seen in 'Dear Megha', which is hitting the screens on September 3. Let's find out what she has to say about her character in the movie, her concept of love, what makes the romantic drama special and more.
Excerpts:
I am very happy personally. I am enjoying this phase. I am also nervous because there is a theatrical release immediately. Director Sushanth Reddy tried to reach me for 'Dear Megha' for long. I was a little scared when I came to know that the film has a very crucial female lead. But I thought 'why not'. I wanted to try something different. The film has a different story, and moreover, I like romantic stories. I love to feel that I am in love while acting in an emotional movie.
'Dear Megha' is nothing like 'Raja Raja Chora'. Rather than comedy, the film is about unconditional love in all its forms and kinds. The purity of love is brought out by the film.
Everybody has been in love. That's why we can all relate to a movie like 'Dear Megha'. The character Megha is very similar to me in the sense that she is quiet. Inside me, I am loud. Outside, I am very quiet. Megha is like that. Otherwise, I love how the character has been shaped. Arun Adith is a family friend with whom I did an Ad in 2014. Since I know him, it was fun working with me.
We have all loved more than one person in our life. 'Dear Megha' is a triangle love story. Musically, the film is special. Unlike the movies made in the West, our romances have their own features in terms of music. Our film has some or the other song that every one of us can relate to. 'Aamani Unte' is my personal favourite.
For me, love is unconditional. It's a necessary thing to become a better person. We love our parents, we love someone who can push the better person of ourselves. My first crush was my classmate who studied Standard IV with me (smiles). My first ever celeb crush was Shah Rukh Khan. I also had a crush on MS Dhoni at one point.
I entered the film industry with a lot of plans. When you start working, things don't necessarily go as planned. The reason I wanted to act is to be someone who I am not. I was doing things that I was comfortable playing. My view has changed now. I want to try out a variety of characters.
Before 'Dear Megha', I had never done a full-fledged romance. That way, I entered a new zone with the film. Like every love story, there is sadness in its love story, too. My character bears a lot of responsibility as per the story. In real life, all of us break up. That's a loss in love.
Arjun Somayajulu is very approachable as an actor. He would be there for me during the making of 'Dear Megha'.
