A man was dead in a train.  His body lied unattended in the toilet for well over 72 hours. The train traveled something like 1500 km.  Yet, not a single railway employee could discover that someone died due to a medical emergency while using the washroom.

It was on May 24 that one Sanjay Kumar Agarwal of Kanpur boarded the Patna-Kota Express in the morning.  A few hours later, his wife called him up to find out if he was comfortable.  By then, Sanjay had started feeling uncomfortable.  A few minute later, he went to use the toilet, where he collapsed due to a heart attack.

Some or the other employee from the cleaning department or security team should have discovered the body.  But none did so for a full 72 hours.  It's only after Sanjay's body started emitting a bad smell that they did so.

The incident has shocked many.  It only goes to show that regular tasks are left unattended in the Railways due to lack of accountability.
