Expectations

Right since the black and white era our film makers have been highly obsessed over remaking regional films. Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi films have been the most favourite for all these film makers.

Gujarati films are the latest to join this list due to many of their small comical films have been striking gold at the box-office. 'Chello Divas' was a surprise hit and thus it has been remade in Hindi as 'Days of Tafree'. The trailer is interesting and being a remake of 'Chello Divas' manage to raise decent level of expectation.

Story

'Days of Tafree' is a story of four college friends, Nikhil (Yash Soni), Vicky (Ansh Bagri), Suresh (Sanchay Goswami) and Dhulla (Sarabjeet Bindra). Nikhil is the simplest of all while Vicky is the one who keeps playing pranks on everyone, Suresh falls in love with every girl he sees and Dhulla is known for his short temper and liking for food.

The 'Glitz' Factor

The story is frame to frame copy of the original film, 'Chhello Divas'. It’s just that the makers have changed the settings from Gujarat to Gurgaon. There are few scenes which will remind you of all those idiotic non-stop fun from your college days. The cinematography is decent and works in the favour of the film.Director Krishnadev Yagnik was brilliant in his original film.

For all those who have not seen the original film will love this movie in parts, but rest of the tacky scenes will ruin their fun for sure. Yash Soni was there in the original film and here also he does his part with total grace. Ansh Bagri has the most entertaining character and does decent justice to it.

Nimisha Mehta, Kinjal Rajpriya, Anuradha Mukherjee lend good support. Sarabjeet Bindra is superb in his part. Yash Soni was there in the original film and here also he does his part with total grace. The 'Non-Glitz' Factor

The dialogues, scenes, styling everything is directly translated into Hindi without even modifying it. In comparison to the non-stop fun in 'Chhello Divas', the whole setup out here in 'Days of Tafree' looks loud and jarring.

The writer even tried to translate the local Gujarati slangs in Hindi which fails to work with the flow of the film. The accident track is soulless while many tracks like the whole drinking session, Ansh and his father’s relationship, Sanchay's lusty antics along with few more, adds to the unnecessary length of the film. Sanchay, going to see a girl for marriage track is among the worst track in this movie. The finale part is dragging. Sanchay Goswami hams to the fullest.

Final 'Glitz'

'Days of Tafree' is partly timepass and jarring in all other scenes. Would recommend to watch the original film with subtitles.
