Australian cricketer David Warner was ruled out of the third ODI match and also the upcoming T20I series against India after suffering a groin injury.
Speaking about the injury, David Warner's wife Candice joked that she may have been responsible for the same as the couple had met each other only recently after spending over four months apart. "We only sort of reunited after four months apart, a couple of days prior... and everyone's like 'what have you done to him'" Candice said. She added, "Sorry, Australia!" Warner's injury has now made his availability for the first match in the Test series uncertain as well, according to Head coach Justin Langer. "He's strained his abductor in his groins and they tell me it's a very painful injury. It looked like he got shot by a gun. He was in incredible pain in the change-rooms. We've just arrived in Canberra, so we won't see him again for probably five or six days until we get back to Sydney," Langer informed SEN's Sportsday WA.
"I'm not holding my breath that he'll be ready for the first Test match, but with that said, he's the sort of elite professional who will be doing literally everything possible to be ready for it. We'll see what happens, but he's going to be a loss that's for sure," the coach added. India will now be facing Australia in a three-match T20I series, which begins on December 4. The T20Is will be followed by a four-match Test series, which begins on December 17.
