In the business for three decades now, constantly reinventing himself when it comes to presentation and styling and now getting ready with 'Rascals', David Dhawan is also a firm believer in maintaining things (read commercial ingredients in a 'masala' outing) the way they are instead of any unnecessary fiddling around with the narrative that could lead to nowhere.

"I always tell youngsters that you can be creative but not at the expense of what the consumer wants. You are delivering to him and not making something for your own personal gratification. Seedhi si baat hai, chalti gaadi ka bonnet mat kholo (don't play around with what is working fine)," laughs David when asked abut what keeps him ticking.

Now that 'Rascals' is getting ready for release later this year, Dhawan is happy to have found a grow-up 'jodi' in Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn.

"'Rascals' is a stress buster for all of us", smiles Dhawan, "With Sanju I started my career in 'Taaqatwar'. Ajay is a superb actor too with a great comic timing. Every scene in which they are together is a highlight. What we have managed to bring on screen is a full on formula film which belongs to the genre that is more often than not successful."

Well sir, for that we would reserve our comment till we see the film for ourselves.
