It turned out to be a bit of an anti-climax in New Delhi yesterday as a special CBI Court said that the date of the much-awaited verdict in 2-G Spectrum scam would be announced only 05th December.
Rs.1.70 lakh crore-worth 2-G Spectrum scam refers to irregularities in allocating frequencies to telecom companies, committed during the erstwhile Congress-led UPA regime at the Centre when DMK’s A. Raja was the Union Telecom Minister. DMK’s Rajya Sabha M.P. Kanimozhi also figures prominently in the list of the accused.
Headed by Justice O.P. Saini, a special CBI Court in New Delhi had been conducting trial in the case for the past six years and said that the date of verdict in the case would be announced yesterday (07th November). Actually, the date was first to be revealed on 15th July which was later postponed to 20th September, 25th October and then to 07th November.
At a time when the whole country was looking forward to knowing the date of verdict, Justice Saini said that the date of the verdict would be revealed on 05th December as the Court required more time to complete the work relating to the delivering the verdict.
