The GST Council has extended the date for furnishing GST returns by a month i.e. till 30th November.
The Goods & Services Tax (GST), a common tax regime across the country, took effet from 01st July all over the country covering all kinds of manufacturing/producing firms and service-provides of all types. Keeping in view the practical difficulties in implementing the process of filing GST returns, traders were of the opinion that they needed time to furnish their returns.
GSTR1, GSTR2 and GSTR3 are the three types of returns to be filed by companies and firms. Last date for filing of these returns for July was earlier extended twice. October 31 was the last date for filing of GSTR1 and GSTR2. 12 lakh firms have, however, filed the returns in time and now the last date for filing of these returns has been extended upto 30th November.
The GSTR3 form, which was to have been filed by 10th November, can now be filed on or before 11th December as the time limit has been extended by a month.
