Dasari speaks home truth

Trust Dasari Narayana Rao to make bold remarks on the stage. The well-meaning and sincere friend of 'chinna cinema' spoke with force at the 100 days function of Ee Rojullo. Attributing the film’s success to the fact that it had been lucky to get a big theatrical release, he drew the attention of the audience to the presence of oligarchic forces, which were thwarting the growth of small films.

Theatres are under the control of some dominant forces in the industry. When Julayi has not found sufficient theatres for release in Kurnool, some elements are moving around with arms in their hands. This vice-like grip of the few must go, he thundered in his characteristic style.

The solution is quite simple. Creative youngsters must come forward to make good films like Ee Rojullo. This alone will save the industry from being spoiled by 'dalaris.' If they are eliminated, every film can be a big film, he said.
