At a press meet in Hyderabad, Dasari Narayana Rao praised Gunasekhar's 'Rudhramadevi', Anushka, Allu Arjun and criticized 'Bruce Lee' makers for releasing their film within a gap of one week. Anushka and Gunasekhar also atended the press meet.

Dasari said, "I watched 'Rudhramadevi' last night. Historical film is a very dangerous genre. Alluri Seetharamaraju is such a film. It is a history. 'Thandra Paparayudu', directed by me, is also a history of our Telugu people. It was released in 1987. Since then, for 28 years, no film has been made on the history of Telugu people. At a time when everyone is making films on dances and fights, it is a risk to do a historical film. I don't dare to do such film at present. It is because of his passion, Gunasekhar made such a great film. After watching the film, I came to know the struggle of Gunasekhar to make this film. There is no scope for fiction when making historical films. Though Guna took creative liberties for a few scenes, he didn't change the history.

I felt it is my duty to tell the people about the movie. Everyone from the industry should watch it and promote it. In a world, where women are confined to kitchen, it was Rudhramadevi who proved that women can also rule. Anushka is a glam doll. I watched her Arundathi and felt very happy. But after watching 'Rudramadevi', I felt that she joined the list of great actresses. She acted beautifully. I was amazed watching her performance. Allu Arjun should be praised for coming forward voluntarily to act in this movie. Other heroes should also be like him. He did a commendable job. He has four introductions in the movie and they are wonderful. Rana Daggubati gave a steady performance. Prakash Raj acted with full control on language"

"What I feel sad is when a big film is released, there should be at least two to three weeks gap for the film to collect the amount invested. But some people are saying that they are committed to a release date and are releasing their film within a gap of one week. I don't think it is fair and I can't understand for whom this competition is for. If those films are postponed, Rudhramadevi will definitely create history", the veteran added.
