'Dasara': Opening-day collections stun Indian trade market

'Dasara' was to a sensational start on Thursday, which was its release day. The film was expected to gross about Rs 20-25 but it went several notches above. As per the makers, the Nani-starrer made Rs 38 Cr in terms of Gross on its first day. This figure pertains to the worldwide collections. A lion's share has come from the Telugu version although the film is a pan-India release.
The film grossed Rs 20 Cr in the Telugu States, with Nizam territory throwing up smashing numbers. Director Srikanth Odela and producer Sudhakar Cherukuri have hit the jackpot with the hero.
The film, co-starring Dheekshith Shetty and Keerthy Suresh, grossed more than $900K on its first day, including Wednesday's stupendous premieres.
After a disaster like 'Ante Sundaraniki' last year, Nani has surely come back roaring. The genre and the theatrical trailer helped the film a great deal although Netizens are drawing comparisons with 'Rangasthalam' in the main.
