It was a touching moment when directors Denis Selarka and Mehul Simaria raised curtains of their debut directorial venture 'Dare You' starring lead actress Alisha Khan who walked in with grace and addressed the media with much confidence in Andheri yesterday.
They strongly raised their voice on the behavior against women in India and how women should ALWAYS voice it. Denis quoted, "Eve teasing has become so common in India today and most girls go through it which is a SHAME. Dare You has a strong message to MEN asking them not to push women to the point of no return." He also added, "Dare You is a family oriented film as it focuses on the after effects of rape and not THE rape."
Dare You is a suspense thriller presented by Nutan Groups and Narsi Vasani which tells the story of Rani Diwan, a free spirited, strong willed girl from Kashmir who comes to Mumbai to complete her graduation. She soon becomes the most popular girl in the college. However, she unintentionally attracts the attention of some notorious college guys, who set their eyes on her and driven by their lust, end up gang raping her. After the horrific incident, Rani shows exemplary courage. Instead of buckling down to the trauma or reporting the matter to the police, she decides to avenge the crime. Thus begins Rani's journey to bring the rapists to their deserving end! It is a spine chilling emotional journey of a fearless Indian girl taking a bold stand against rape. Dare You is the voice of youngistan!
When asked about her experience in working for such a bold subject, she quoted, "Though it`s a very daring movie, my directors made me very comfortable as I was enrolled in a workshop to understand the subject well. I am happy and privileged to be a part of a film with a strong social message".
The movie is slated to release in February 2015.
