Ban on Darbar release case - Courts decision

Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' directed by A. R. Murugadoss is hitting the screens on January 9th with great demand for tickets according to reports. DMY Creations SDN BDH a Malaysian company had filed a case in the Madras High Court that Lyca Productions owes them money to the tune of 23.7 Crores and sought the ban on the release of 'Darbar'.

Today Lyca filed their counter-petition in which the accusations were not only denied but have stated that the Malaysian company owes it money to the tune of 1.59 crores over the distribution of '2.0', 'Vada Chennai', 'Maari 2' and 'Vantha Rajavaathaan Varuven'. Lyca has further alleged that DMY Creations are maliciously making false allegations due to them not getting the distribution rights for 'Kaappaan' and 'Darbar'.

The court has adjourned without mentioning the next hearing date and have reserved the verdict. Since there is no ban the release of 'Darbar' will go on as planned.
