Superstar Rajnikanth had a release this Pongal festival, with his 167th movie Darbar directed by AR Murugadoss. Produced by Lyca Productions, Darbar was released worldwide on January 10 and it was announced by the producers that the movie had collected 150 crores gross in its opening weekend.
While the movie is said to be running successfully, for the past few days there were reports that distributors have claimed that Darbar has been a loss venture for them and that police had stopped the distributors from meeting Rajnikanth when they went to meet him to discuss about it.
Now, Tamil Nadu information and public relations minister Kadambur Raju has said that if the distributors of Darbar who have faced losses approach Tamil Nadu government, they will be helped. Since the producers council is not functioning, the special officer was appointed and if the distributors approach the council, Tamil Nadu government will guide them in finding a solution, said Kadambur Raju.
