Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' audio launch was held on Saturday at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai which has turned out to be one of the most sensational filmy events in 2019. The man of the moment Anirudh Ravichander swayed the audience by stating that he would happily give up his life for the Thalaivar and there is no surprise that he will always give him a super hit album. He revealed that after composing and recording each song he and lyricist Vivek would be in tears that they have done work for the greatest actor in the world. The youth icon did not forget to mention how it was A.R. Murugadoss who elevated him to the big league by giving the opportunity to score for Vijay's 'Kaththi'.
Lyricist Vivek shared the hot news that there is an exclusive song in 'Darbar' which glorifies transgenders and would become their anthem. A.R. Murugadoss brought the house down by stating that after MGR only Rajinikanth captured the hearts of millions with his stylish acting and voice modulation. The leading commercial director added that in the luxury ship called Rajini he too has traveled for the past one year.
The highlight of the evening among the guest speeches was by Raghava Lawrence who warned politicians speaking against Rajini that they have to deal with him first. He pointed out how words like "Athisayam" and "Arputham" existed in Tamil language for centuries but have become talking points once Rajini pronounced them at the 'Kamal 60' function. The choreographer turned actor-director to those who criticize Rajini that he is out for publicity and that he has aged points out that the word Superstar is the biggest publicity and one should see him walk briskly to understand his real age.
Lawrence expressed his confidence on A.R. Murugadoss whose films carry strong messages and predicted that 'Darbar' will be a bigger mass hit than Superstar's all-time record-breaker 'Baashaa'. Nivetha Thomas who is playing a pivotal role in the film requested Rajini that she would love to cook food for him to which the doyen showed his thumbs up. Director Shankar, Vivek, Yogi Babu and producer Subashkaran were among the other celebrities who spoke at the occasion while leading lady Nayanthara was conspicuous by her absence. The crowd was treated to a live performance of the 'Darbar' songs by Anirudh and other singers.
