Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' has emerged a clear winner at the box office after one week since its release raking in 170 Crores from the worldwide box office. As mentioned earlier this is Rajini's eight film to cross the 100 Crores mark the most by any South Indian star.
The contribution from Tamil Nadu is 60 Crores out of which the Chennai city accounts for 9.97 Cr. The rest of the figures are Kerala - 8.6 Cr., Karnataka - 15.1 Cr., Andhra Pradesh - 14 Cr and North India - 8 Crores. The total Overseas gross is rupee 65 Crores with USA & Canada bringing in - 15 Cr., Europe - 9 Cr., UAE - 12 Cr., Australia - 4 Cr., Singapore - 6 Cr., Sri Lanka - 6 Cr and Malaysia - 11 Crores
'Darbar' directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions has Rajini and Nayanthara as the lead pair while Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Sunil Shetty in other pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music and Santhosh Shivan has handled the cinematography. The continuing holiday weekend could further boost the collections of the film towards the 200 Crores mark.
