Damaal Dumeel Preview

After being a part of star studded casts, playing second fiddle in a couple of movies Vaibav is making his solo debut in DamaalDumeel which is hitting the theatres this week. The film touted to be a dark comedy thriller also has the pizza actress Ramya Nambesan in the lead.

The director is no new comer when it comes to media, as he has been quite prominently directing advertisements and was last seen assisting ace director Shankar for Endhiran. So DamaalDumeel will be the debut for Shree who is counting big on Vaibhav to wave the magic wand of abracadabra.

Why DamaalDumeel? The hero "mani" essayed by Vaibav, a software engineer with quite a handsome salary is a jolly good fellow. In a sudden turn of events, the dude loses his jobs and hell breaks loose. But that doesn't end here, for he brings the wrath of two goon gangs in the city and is pursued at break neck speed! That's the plot put in a nutshell, and one look at the trailed makes us assume a commercial entertainer is quite round the corner.

Well, comedy thrillers have become quite a habit in Tamil cinema and the new age of Dark Comedy thrillers are here to stay. Taking a page out of this genre, Shree will need to shuffle between the ingredients to blend the perfect entertainer. The cast apart from Vaibav and Ramya has some mature inclusion with SayajiShinde and Kota Srinivas Rao making it up for the two antagonists.

The producer Jayakumar too is a prominent personality in Advertisement production world and this movie will mean a lot indeed. Thaman's music has been doing its rounds, with the Pogadhe number crooned by Remya quite a hit already.

The film hits the screens this week clashing with Vadivelu's "Tenali Raman" and so there is a lot of pressure on this young team no doubt, that said its just to wait and watch on who will lead the horse race!
