Sohan Roy, director and producer of controversial film 'Dam 999', on Monday met Tamil Nadu Home Secretary Rameshram Mishra at the Secretariat in Chennai, as per the orders of the Supreme Court and explained his side of the story.

After meeting the top bureaucrat, the filmmaker said he was questioned about his visit to areas in Kerala, where people are protesting against Mullaiperiyar dam.

He said the officials wanted to know the reason behind making such a film, when a case on Mullaiperiyar was pending in the Supreme Court and the issue has snowballed into a major political crisis between the two neighboring States, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The Tamil Nadu government had recently banned the film as it might create fear among the people regarding the controversial Mullaiperiyar dam. Roy had moved to the Supreme Court against the ban and the Court had directed the Tamil Nadu government to give an opportunity to him and hear his side of the story.
