Bollywood loves recycling stuff. Be it films from another industries or songs from another times, they love remaking them. Recently, song Aila Re Aila from Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryavanshi' was released and it has gotten popular in no time. Sung by legendary artist Daler Mehandi, it is a remake of a song from Akshay's other film 'Khatta Meetha'. As he came to headlines again after Aila Re Aila, Mehandi shared his insightful opinion about the trend of remaking songs.
He said, "If you have to remix a song, you should keep the original singer in the new version along with new music. That's how the audience will enjoy it. Imagine someone else recreating Kishore Kumar's songs. People won't like it. If someone else had sung Aila Re Aillaa, I am sure it wouldn't have received such a positive response. I strongly believe that no other singer apart from the original singer should sing a remix because they will be constantly compared. However, there should be new music to make it interesting.”
Talking about the picturization of the song, Daler Mehandi said, "The trio has a lot of energy, especially Akshay. He has danced so well in this song. He had first danced on the original track, and even now he has so much energy. Even though Ranveer is young, Akshay stole the show with his moves. It was challenging to recreate a song that was released over a decade ago.”
