Dakota Pitts is a five year boy who lost his police father in line of duty. When the boy asked his mother if he could have a police officer escort him to school, guess what happened.

A group of 70 officers were standing in support when Dakota showed up for school Monday morning. The interesting thing to note here is that the officers weren’t just belonging to the local Terre Haute where the boy’s dad died, but were also present from other departments and from other regions as well.

SWAT officers also gave one of their own SWAT shirt and badge to Dakota. No doubt that Dakota will remember this day for the rest of his life. And may his dad Rob Pitts rest in peace.
