Dakota Johnson faces the harsh reality of her recent film, "Madame Web," both critically and commercially.
In an interview with Bustle, she took some time to comment on the film and said, "I’m not surprised that this has gone down the way it has." She spent some time sharing her experience by admitting that what was produced was not what she anticipated. As much as disappointment was written in capitals, she wasn’t surprised at how unpredictable the acting world is.
"Madame Web" opened to a gross of $26.2 million in its opening weekend and was trashed by critics. Johnson called it "a spot-on metaphor for the state of movies today," suggesting that artistic integrity is not even valued when it comes to corporations.
While on the press junket, Johnson's demeanor caused somewhat of a fuss, where people just thought she was rather standoffish. Explaining those perceptions, she said, 'I can’t act enthusiastic; I just prefer authenticity.
Said to the critic later, Johnson must have cleared it for herself when she said she gets little sleep and a little lie just to spice things up. She really stressed irregularities in her time schedules at times because of work and especially cut the critics short, probably by trying to get closer to her mysteries about lifestyles. Finally, Johnson is sincere to himself and, in so doing, really gives hope—at least for a while to look at all those problems it is faced with.
