Ram Charan was there at the launch event of the biography 'Megastar: The Legend', written by cine journalist U Vinayaka Rao, on Sunday.
Speaking at the event, Ram Charan said that he never got to know much about his father's filmi journey as a child. Referring to Chiru's landmark films such as 'Khaidi', the 'RRR' actor said that working with his dad on 'Khaidi No. 150' and 'Sye Raa' has helped me know his father from close quarters. He recalled the hard work that Chiru had to put in for these movies.
"Frankly, I hope that my director allows me to arrive one hour late for the sets. But my father hopes that he gets to work an hour extra," Charan said.
The Mega Power Star revealed that he produced 'Sye Raa' at a time when he couldn't pay his dad's remuneration. "But he never made me feel low about it. He gave his all for the two years for which the film was in the making. He worked on the film for 250 days without seeking a single rupee of remuneration. He was ready to take money only if the film made any profits," Charan said.
"Whenever he is free, he seeks to spend his time with the family. I am thankful for the book on him," he added.
