CVL Narasimha Rao is no longer a contestant running for the post of MAA President. The MAA elections are going to be held on October 10. Hours after announcing his manifesto, Rao on Saturday withdrew his nomination.

"I am withdrawing from the contest. I have conveyed the same to the election officer. I am not extending my support to either Prakash Raj's panel or Vishnu Manchu's panel. I have my reasons behind the withdrawal. More than position, my concern is the welfare of the MAA members," Rao said.

He added that he will reveal the reason behind withdrawing from the race in a couple of days.

The senior character artist thanked 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' actress Vijayashanthi for supporting him when he entered the MAA election race by talking about the welfare of Telangana artists. "I sincerely thank her for the support," Rao said.
