Manoj refuses to be routine.  In this album, he gets the songs bear his imprint.  On his part, Achu delivers a decent enough output, never mind the inspirations.

Ramajogayya, Yadagiri, Ananth Sriram and Bhaskarabhatla pen entertaining lyrics yet again.

Ammay Nadumu

Artists: Achu, MM Manasi
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

What is a Manchu Manoj song without the usual dose of eccentricity.  This one is partially a throwback to one of the most popular item songs in Telugu film history.  Ramajogayya Sastry pens lyrics that border on the double entendre.  Achu's music is freak-type.  Manasi's vocals come with the usual 'kick'.

Current Teega (Theme Music)

This instrumental starts off with snatches of AR Rehman's 'Bombay' musical here and there.  Except for a few words, the rest of the part is all instrumental, delivered to have a melancholic effect.

Kallalo Unna Prema

Artists: Karthik
Lyricists: Varikuppala Yadagiri

The short song has profound lyrics and captures the boy's tragic mood.  Karthik's vocals are a big plus.  Achu proves his mettle in delivering a melody.

Nene Nene Current Teega

Artists: Ranjith
Lyricists: Ramajogayya Sastry

Finally you have a Manoj-esque song.  A song where he bares his character's typical attitude.  There is that language of aggression and self-boasting, not to speak of assertiveness.  Ramajogayya writes idealistic attributes for the hero, as our heroes are wont to do for Telugu film heroes.  Ranjith's excellent rendition stands out, making the song the best.

Padaharellaina

Artists: Chinmayee
Lyricists: Ananth Sriram

To begin with, the song has snatches of a 'Om Shanthi Om' tune.  As it progresses, the song gets on our ears.  Chinmayee's beautiful rendition lends the song a Midas Touch of its own, a traditional and modern touch both.  Ananth Sriram's literary bent of mind breathes a fresh soul into the song.

Pilla O Pilla

Artists: Karthik
Lyricists: Ramajogayya Sastry

The music is deep and Ramajogayya's poetical lyrics that come with analogies are excellent.  Traces of two or three songs notwithstanding, the number manages to have an impact.  Karthik's Sonu Nigam-like rendition is haunting.  Achu's musical output is probably at its best.

Pothe Ponee Poraa

Artists: Manoj
Lyricists: Varikuppala Yadagiri

After displaying his attitude, Manoj has to sing a tragedy song.  That he philosophizes his character's fate in a satirical way is not just because of his lyricist but also because of the image that he wants to carve out for himself.  Manoj croons the song in his usual hatke fashion.

Yerra Yerra Cheera

Artists: Jassie Gift, Kamalaja
Lyricists: Bhaskarabhatla Ravikumar

Jassie Gift's booming voice needs no introduction.  That he suits the kind of movies that Manoj does, is only an added advantage.  Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics are impressive, especially for the masses.  Kamalaja has a special appeal for electrifying songs.

Verdict: A good album from Achu. Tailor made for Manchu Manoj.
