Curfew extented: Koyambedu market to be open on Sunday

Chief Minister MK Stalin announced that the entire curfew would be extended till 6 am on June 7 as the incidence of corona in Tamil Nadu has been declining in recent days. Following this on behalf of the Store management pannel it is said that Koyambedu market will function as usual on Sunday.

During the curfew, Vegetable shops, grocery stores and butcher shops are all closed however it is sold in residential areas by vehicles. Chennai Corporation, Local Bodies and NGO are carrying out this work in an effective way possible. For this, shops in the vegetable, fruit and flower market have been opened in Koyambedu market.

Merchants were allowed to operate these shops till 12 noon. Following the announcement of the curfew extension, the store management board has announced that the market will function as usual on Sunday (May 30),in response to a request from traders to meet the basic needs of the people.

Administrative officer Govinda Rajan said "We are currently selling vegetables and fruits directly to households at affordable prices on a daily basis for the convenience of the general public. This has been well received. And the number of vehicles selling vegetables is increasing day by day to meet the demand of the public. Due to this, the Koyambedu market will function as usual on the 30th (Sunday), ”
