Weeks after Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni guided the team to their fourth victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL), a recent report has suggested that the CSK management is all set to retain Dhoni for the next three years ahead of the mega auction.
The news has left viewers divided as a number of them felt that a wiser move would have been to retain Dhoni for just another year as he is well past his prime. Meanwhile, the report further claimed that the franchise has plans to retain young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as well before the mega auction on November 30. However, it is apparently yet to be decided who, between England all-rounders Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, will be chosen as the fourth retention.
The mega auction, which is coming up in less than a week, will only allow the existing IPL franchises to retain four of their players ahead of the 15th edition of the tournament. The respective franchises can retain either three Indian players and one overseas player or two Indian players and two overseas players.
