The Indian Premier League always remains the trending topic among cricket fans throughout the year even if the tournament takes place only for two months. While the Indian cricket team is prepping for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia next month, updates about IPL 2023 have flooded social media.
As per a recent report by Cricbuzz, IPL 2023 will start in March ending and the mini-auction will take place in mid-December. The purse amount for each franchise is increased to Rs 95 crores (5 crores increased). So, the teams who have spent all the purse value will still have 5 crores in reserve during the mini-auction. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly hinted that IPL will return to the home and away format in the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, some franchises have shown interest in trading the players. Ravindra Jadeja is a star all-rounder in the Indian team and in Chennai Super Kings. His future with CSK was questioned after it was reported that he had a fallout with the management. Jadeja was named the team's captain last year and was removed as the captain as he lost consecutive games. He deleted posts related to CSK from his social media recently.
According to Cricbuzz, a couple of IPL franchises including the Delhi Capitals requested CSK for a trade of Ravindra Jadeja, but CSK didn't accept the trade. CSK management confirmed, "There are no plans to part ways with Ravindra Jadeja, he is one of the best in the world." The report further added that GT has received offers from other franchises to trade Rahul Tewatia and R Sai Kishore but GT turned off the offers.
