Indian cricketer Shivam Dube, who was bought by the Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 4 crore on the second day of the IPL 2022 mega auction, also became a father to a baby boy on the same day.
Dube shared the news on his social media pages alongside a picture of his wife Anjum holding the newborn. “Bundle of happiness arrives in our life … blessed with a baby boy…” he captioned the post. The 28-year-old batsman made his debut for India in a T20 International against Bangladesh in November 2019. Dube has played 13 T20Is so far, in which he has slammed a half-century and has best bowling figures of 3/30. Besides that he has also played an ODI in 2019 against the West Indies.
The Mumbai based cricketer, whose longtime dream of playing under CSK skipper MS Dhoni became reality on Sunday, expressed his elation over the same. “My dream is to play under my hero and that is MS Dhoni – it will be coming true soon – I have seen that those who played under him feel secure and perform well – I am very excited, I will try to come back to the Indian team by doing well in CSK,” he was quoted as saying by a news agency.
