To celebrate the 100-day run of Chennai 600028, a grand cricket tourney will be organized in Chennai between 2 and 4 August at YMCA Grounds in which 32 teams from different parts of the State would take part. The winning team would play a match with Chennai 600028 team.

S P Charan, the producer of the movie says, "Such a tourney is being organized since the movie deals about Gully cricket. The winner would be presented with a cash award of Rs 25,000 to the winner and Rs 10,000 to the runner-up”.

State Sports Minister T P Mohideen Khan would kick off the event.

Venkat Prabhu adds, “The 100th day function would be celebrated on 5 August at Chennai Trade Centre and entire event would be done in a unique manner. Popular film stars and veteran cricketers would be invited for the event”.
