Kollywood and comedy fans are in absolute shock as the news has come that veteran actor-playwright Crazy Mohan has passed away due to a cardiac arrest in Chennai a few minutes ago. However our sources at the Cauvery Hospital where he has been admitted have clarified that he is still in a very critical condition. It is said that the doctors have taken the last resort step and have injected necessary medicines straight to the heart of the actor and the exact condition is still unknown.
The 67-year-old multifaceted personality is one of the most celebrated in the stage drama circuit known for his tongue twister dialogues and simple themes that connected well with all sections of the audiences. The characters Seenu (played by the late Mohan), Madhu (played by his younger brother Balaji) have featured in over 30 of his plays which Mohan wrote and have been staged over 6500 times all over the world. He is also one of the first to capitalize the television medium in the eighties and nineties.
Crazy Mohan was introduced to Tamil cinema by the legendary director K. Balachander through 'Poikaal Kuthurai' for which he wrote the dialogues (the film was based on Crazy's play "Marriage Made in Saloon'). As writer he then made several memorable movies with Kamal Haasan such as 'Apoorva Sagodharargal', 'Michael Madhana Kamarajan', 'Panchathanthiram', 'Avvai Shanmughi', 'Vasool Raja MBBS' and 'Tenali. Rajinikanth an ardent fan of Crazy Mohan booked him as the dialogue writer for his super hit 'Arunachalam'. His recent film is the recently released 'Devi 2' starring Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah.
