Kerala is the second home for several North Indian migrant workers. With the n number of opportunities in Kerala, the population of migrant workers in the state is pretty higher than any other state. With the outbreak of coronavirus, Kerala Government ensured food and other essential facilities for the workers considering them as guests. Several migrant workers had openly admitted that Kerala's policy towards them cannot be compared, as their own native places don't offer free food items.

As a token of gratitude to the excellent services provided by the government, a migrant labourer from Rajasthan donated a sum of Rs 5000 to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). Setting an example to many, Vinod Jangid, a native of Veeranpura in Rajasthan, along with his friend Mukesh Chand Jangid, reached the local police station with a request to the cops to help him donate the amount. He handed over the amount to the Station House Officer who immediately deposited the amount to the CMDRF via Google Pay.

"For the past few days, I have been thinking of doing something to help the government in my own way. But I didn't know what to do. When I told some police personnel on duty at my place about my plan to donate some money to CMDRF, they asked me to go to the police station," said Vinod to Manorama news daily. Vinod stays at Kasargod, the worst coronavirus-affected district in Kerala.
