Covid-19 patients in Hyderabad will have no beds!

Is Telangana in for big trouble on the Covid-19 front? Going by the available trends, the answer is a big 'yes'.
A political spokesperson, appearing on TV9, has predicted that Hyderabad alone is going to have one lakh cases by July 31. This doesn't seem to be off the mark, not only because lockdown is not rigorous these days but also because such predictions are said to hold good for cities like Delhi (which is likely to have 5.5 lakh cases by July 31).
The real problem lies in the fact that Hyderabad is not prepared to handle one lakh cases. "Even if beds in private hospitals were to be used, we won't be able to handle more than a quarter of the demand. Additional capacity can't be created for more than 2,000 cases. Therefore, patients won't have any other option but to isolate at their homes and resort to telemedicine. Consult your doctor via a video call and take HCQ prescriptions and the like," the panelist said on TV9.
At the moment, the situation looks quite grim. It's not clear why additional capacity couldn't be ramped up exponentially given that early cases were registered in March.
Dear Telanga people, I request you to watch this once and take care of yourselves.
