Covid-19: Nearly 950 new cases in Andhra Pradesh in 24 hours

Andhra Pradesh continues to witness a rise in coronavirus cases like never before this year. The latest health bulleting says that there were 947 new infections in the 24-hour period ending Saturday morning.
Chittoor reportedly logged 180 new cases, which is the worst-hit district in the said period. Visakhapatnam logged 156 cases.
The number of active cases stands at 4,715. The total number of cases in the State has touched the 8.94 lakh mark.
Meanwhile, the other day, AP started carrying out vaccination drives at village secretariats as well. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has instructed officials to ensure that one crore people are vaccinated in a month's time.
Village secretaries, ward secretariats in urban areas, volunteers as well as Asha workers will be made to fully focus on the vaccination process.
