COVID-19: Kerala's death toll rises

A 38-year-old man and a 68-year-old man, who was tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), died on Friday in Kerala, taking the southern state’s death toll to 10. Both of them had returned from Abu Dhabi earlier in May.
The 38-year-old Jose breathed his last at Alappuzha Government Medical College. Jose was under observation after he showed COVID-19 signs. He was under treatment for liver-related ailments and was confirmed coronavirus infection only after 7 hours of his death. Later the day, Joshy, 68, died at the Kottayam Government Medical College. He was a diabetes patient. Meanwhile, an 80-year-old woman who had returned from Mumbai is in a critical situation with severe breathing problems. She is currently on a ventilator.
Kerala recorded the highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases with 84 people being tested positive for the virus on Thursday. Currently, 577 people are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the state.
